Twice a year I help with a program called Feed A Student through Riverside Church in Sterling. When the schools go on the long holiday break in December or on spring break, the students that depend on the free school breakfast and lunch have limited resources. Feed A Student provides a week’s worth of groceries to almost 300 students from Sugarland Elementary School. This initiative is not just about feeding the students physically, but it also provides them with a sense that the community cares and that they matter.
Feed A Student can always use support through donations but we also need volunteers to help with picking up food orders, and transporting the bags from the church to the school.
