November 8 – January 5
Meadowlark’s Winter Walk of Lights The gardens in Vienna, Virginia are transformed into a half-mile, animated walk of lights. It is purely magical and one of our favorite holiday outings. You can even purchase a s’more kit and roast marshmallows after your walk.
November 22 – Dec. 29
Enchant Christmas – The worlds largest light maze and market. Enter a luminescent land or larger-than-life sculptures, ice skating trail, and decadent delights as snow gently falls around you
November 22 – January 5
Bull Run Festival of Lights -Centreville, VA. 2.5 miles illuminated by holiday light displays. Drive the festival route from the comfort of your car; turn out your headlights and just follow the magical glow. After viewing the lights, bring your family and friends to the holiday village to enjoy rides, refreshments, and of course, photos with Santa Claus (holiday village open select nights).
November 23
Village at Leesburg Tree Lighting – 3 to 6 PM. Village at Leesburg. Santa arrives by horse-drawn carriage to light the Spectacular Musical Tree! The festivities include horse-drawn carriage rides, live performances, holiday characters, cozy fire pits and more festive fun!You are encouraged to bring a toy to be donated to Toys for Tots. Horse drawn carriage rides every Friday and Saturday through December 21
November 24 – Dec. 22
Mount Vernon by Candlelight – When your tour begins, you will be guided into the 18th century for a lantern-lit tour of the historic area, where you will see the Slave Quarters and the Blacksmith Shop. Inside the Mansion, Martha Washington and other Mount Vernon residents will welcome you into their home and share stories of past Christmases.
November 29 – Jan. 1
Zoo Lights – A free event, ZooLights includes live music performances, tasty winter treats and plenty of opportunities for holiday shopping. More than 500,000 environmentally friendly LED lights transform the Zoo into a winter wonderland complete with two dazzling laser light shows set to music.
November 29
Reston Town Center Holiday Parade Reston Town Center, 11 AM. A festive, 1-hour procession of Macy’s-style balloons, musicians, characters, community groups, VIPs, and the arrival of Santa & Mrs. Claus. Events all day.
December 1
Cascades Overlook Tree Lighting – 6- 8 PM
December 6
Christmas Tree Lighting – Leesburg, on the town green at 6 PM. The festive ceremony will feature performances from local groups and a holiday message. The crowd will be encouraged to join in the festivities and view the lighting of the Christmas tree.
December 7
Claude Moore Holiday in the Park – 3:30- 6 PM. Enjoy our bright festive light displays while making crafts, and munching on roasted marshmallows. Hope on our wagon for a ride through the Park. Help your neighbors in need by donating a new knit hat or gloves for the Winter Warmth Tree. Free and fun for the whole family!
One Loudoun Annual Tree Lighting – 5- 7 PM
Wolf Trap Holiday Sing-A-Long – This musical celebration hosts a performance by the United States Marine Band and a Sing-A-Long of Christmas carols and Hanukkah songs with local choir and vocal groups from the metropolitan Washington area.
December 14
Leesburg Annual Holiday Parade – The holiday spirit will be in full swing as Leesburg hosts the annual holiday parade starting at 6 pm. The parade will usher Santa and his friends down King Street, through Historic Leesburg. The parade will begin at Ida Lee Drive and end at Fairfax Street
December 22
Chanukah on the Ellipse Washington DC. Grand lighting ceremony on December 22. Tickets required but are free.
